The landgrabbing facilitated by the World Bank in the global south inspired us to try some landgrabbing of our own here in London. So on the morning of October 10th, a group of actors, poets, academics and activists descended to Milbank Tower, the World Bank HQ in London and staged taking back the land in honour of the land lost from defenceless individuals.
Once we had taped up the doors of the building, we proceeded with speeches from David Graeber and poems from London spoken word artists such as Pete The Temp and Alex Etchart. The commotion caught attention of passers by and those attempting to enter and leave the building, who all seemed very interested in why we were there and all of whom took our information sheets.
